After a hectic March and April- putting up a show, pulling together an art opening, two weddings, and one mini family reunion- I AM BACK AT IT!
I love being hired for commissioned work. I love hearing from people what they want to see in their home, their office, what they want to give to their friends... and then I LOVE delivering on those wants. Once again, I'm working with my lovely DC couple- Scott & Rachel- and creating a line of work for their new home in our country's capital. Here is just a small sneak peek of a couple sketches for their "States" collection. While I find it difficult to stray too far from my beloved pen and ink medium, I am excited to bring in new materials (like maps, in the top photo) and push myself to let go of my simple ways- GASP!- and add in a bit more dimension this time. Stay tune as this project unfolds...
